Project Overview

JomCharge App is a revolutionary application developed by VirtualSpirit's team, aimed at addressing the challenge of long-distance range anxiety for electric vehicle (EV) owners in Malaysia.

The project's primary objective is to build a network of fast-charging EV stations across the country, making it convenient and stress-free for users to charge their vehicles.

With the JomCharge app, users can easily locate nearby charging stations and manage their entire charging session directly from their smartphones.

Business Challenge

The main challenges faced by EV owners in Malaysia include the difficulty in finding the nearest charging station due to limited available information, the inconvenience of making cash payments for charging, and the requirement of QR code scanning for payment at some charging stations.

These pain points contribute to range anxiety and hinder the adoption of electric vehicles.

Solution

To address these challenges, the VirtualSpirit team has developed the JomCharge app with the following solutions:

Information Accessibility: The app provides users with real-time information about nearby charging stations, allowing them to plan their routes and alleviate range anxiety.

Convenient Payment: Users can pay for their charging sessions using their credit cards directly within the application, eliminating the need for cash transactions.

QR Code Scanning: The app also offers QR code scanning as a payment method for charging sessions, providing a seamless experience for users who prefer this option.

Results & Impact

VirtualSpirit's team-developed JomCharge app aims to revolutionize long-distance travel with electric vehicles in Malaysia.

By creating a network of fast-charging stations and offering a user-friendly experience, JomCharge simplifies the charging process and promotes electric vehicle adoption.

Key Design Values:

  • Service: JomCharge provides a seamless experience, helping users find nearby charging stations effortlessly.
  • User Focus: The app is designed for easy navigation and practicality.
  • Problem-Focused: The VirtualSpirit's team continually enhances the app to improve user experience.
